June 2018

Welcome to the Shit Show

There's no better time to be extra, gain weight, and spend money you wish you had, than during your Birthday MONTH. While June was filled with only the best of the best of memories, I also found myself struggling to balance a social life & work. Yes, that's right, I found a summer job near my quaint hometown, which led to my current status of "wandering #millennial nomad". Work was Monday through Thursday and following my last email, I would race to my car and head to Richmond for the weekend, rinse, and repeat. Not the most ideal set up, especially because I was still paying rent at my apartment in Richmond but I'm telling myself that it was worth it.

ဖ Anyway, my birthday weekend was nothing short of phenomenal. I went to the VMFA, ate at a local Japanese Steakhouse, danced until my ankles caved (literally), and at the end of the night, ripped off my falsies & attempted to throw up the alcohol I drank before passing out. Although I hardly ever drink & was even sober on my 21st birthday, this year called for a celebration. Because screw it, I had made it, you were now looking at the new, still subpar, yet slightly improved 22 year old Lianna, who had clawed her way through her first year of #adulting and still had the same friends (and new ones) to vouch for it.

ဖ Yes, things were looking up for me - as I dragged my sleep deprived body from my floor - I was here to #adult. Needless to say, as I'm writing this in July, I most definitely have not adult-ed more.

ဖ The rest of June was filled with friends, work, and new places. I attended my first Vegetarian Festival and ever-so-ceremoniously ordered a vegetarian hamburger to top off the moment, I finally went to Kabana and wasted 10 solid minutes making my friends take photos of me, caught up with my cousin who had just come back from traveling the world, visited the local bar, Vivify, in Fredericksburg, was a bridesmaid in Cindy's wedding, AND stayed in my very first TINY HOME.

ဖ There were so many moments where I took the time to soak in my surroundings & engrave the memories into my head. June was definitely the best month yet.
