July 2018

Image
July = June + less money + more partying + moving out. Aka every bit of the shit show that June was but with a tasteful hint of trash  class sprinkled into the mix. With the planets in retrograde, I proceeded to build up a stash of good energy by helping friends move into their new place, telling Becky her one night stand wasn't that ugly, sharing VIP tickets to the Tory Lanez concert, and changing my dating status to "Busy. Venmo Meihem96 for inquiries" (which sadly didn't relieve me of any financial obligations so plz share & follow my blog). ဖ  What set this apart from the other months was that July, I decided to work at a strip club - which lasted all of 24 hours before I decided that it wasn't the right fit for me. In addition, my road to Minimalism was at an all-time high as I prepared to move out of my apartment. I was throwing shit out left & right and either gifting  things  to my borderline hoarder friends to add to their mess of a collec...

SLUT.

Image
Ur A sLuT. What a historically terrible thing to call someone....until one girl changed the game with her ground breaking street interview . ဖ Her eccentric look was just icing on the cake as she proudly claimed " I am a slut".  "I own my body. My body is not a political playground, it’s not a place for legislation,” she says.  “It’s mine, and it’s my future.” ဖ  Side note:  I almost didn't write this particular post because I still find myself questioning whether its "appropriate" to cover topics that society deems as controversial/taboo but I believe that as a woman - nay - human being, it's important to express oneself in a respectful way.  ဖ In the past few years, I have become more aware of society's viewpoint on women and in turn how it has impacted my life & the way I view myself. I could bicker all day about the cage that society puts women in but that would go nowhere so instead I want to talk about its affect on my personal ...

My Night at the Strip Club

Image
Let me tell you, nothing   screams "Mama I made it" like working at a strip club post college. In all honesty, strip clubs can be extremely successful for both the owners & the workers and I am in no way bashing the industry. I personally find "taboo & sexual" topics to be quite interesting and in many cases strippers make obscene amounts of money for their work.....so before you exit your browser - while on lunch break - at your shit job - that doesn't pay you for having a beating heart  tits - hear me out & subscribe .  ဖ As I was saying, homegirl was broke curious so I decided to try out the strip club....as a server . #adulting I know. I had found a Craigslist post advertising for dancers & servers so I replied to the email and sent a few photos of myself over. I can say with certainty, that the interview process for a strip club is nothing like applying for a 9-5. Instead of struggling to pick out clothes that covered my body, I was sear...

Gotta Blast!

Next Stop:  Scottsdale, Arizona; to pursue the millennial's dream of booking a 1-way and somehow not running out of money, not being robbed, not starving on the street, and finding success. ဖ But in all seriousness, I am so excited that I have this opportunity. ဖ This past weekend I was absolutely overwhelmed by the amount of love & support from my friends who surprised me with a goodbye dinner at my favorite restaurant the Daily. Since then I've been crying in every public and private place: the restaurant, the club, my car, the community trash pickup, my parents couch, my parents kitchen, etc. I am so incredibly thankful for my best friends who made it happen by planning around my OCD ways (& the fact I was inviting people last minute to what I thought was supposed to be a dinner of 3). I truly am the luckiest person out there to have such wonderful people in my life. ဖ Despite my outgoing personality, inability to listen to anyone's advice until I co...

June 2018

Welcome to the Shit Show  ဖ There's no better time to be extra, gain weight, and spend money you wish you had, than during your Birthday MONTH. While June was filled with only the best of the best of memories, I also found myself struggling to balance a social life & work. Yes, that's right, I found a summer job near my quaint hometown, which led to my current status of "wandering #millennial nomad". Work was Monday through Thursday and following my last email, I would race to my car and head to Richmond for the weekend, rinse, and repeat. Not the most ideal set up, especially because I was still paying rent at my apartment in Richmond but I'm telling myself that it was worth it.  ဖ Anyway, my birthday weekend was nothing short of phenomenal. I went to the VMFA, ate at a local Japanese Steakhouse, danced until my ankles caved (literally), and at the end of the night, ripped off my falsies & attempted to throw up the alcohol I drank before passing out...

May 2018

I don't know who came up with "April Showers Brings May Flowers" because it was more like - April forgot to shower & instead brought May her half-eaten, leftover Cook Out from the week before.  ဖ  For me, May was a mix of emotions. I realized it had been a full year since I did anything productive with my life in terms of "adulting" but also realized underneath the unkept hair, fast food wrappers, and the early signs of diabetes, I had grown in a lot of ways. ဖ  For the first time in forever *insert Frozen song reference* I felt like I was gaining back  weight  things I didn't know I had lost. Over the past 365 days, I had strengthened my friendships, eased up on the gym, listened more & talked less, started dancing, and found out I'm not just a snack, I'm the whole damn meal (from like the dollar menu but still).  ဖ  My week days were spent driving Lyft which in all honesty, was definitely a highlight of my year. I never r...

Welcome

Welcome! ဖ I wanna start off by saying, thanks for dedicating the next 30 seconds of your life to reading this. ဖ I'm Lianna; your average post-graduate millennial creating a blog with the hopes of making 6 figures within the month. ဖ The difference between me & the next blog you read is, it wasn't written by a white girl...so on that note, onward! ဖ  A bit about me Personality - Eccentric Looks - Subpar Chest size - Concave Ethnicity - Made in China Diet - Trash Venmo - Meihem96 ဖ As a side note, I wanted to create this blog as a dedication to myself, for myself, about myself - but also open it up to anyone who cares to learn a bit more about minimalism and any other miscellaneous topics that come to mind so  please share & follow!  Enjoy! xoxo  - MeideInChina
